A 60-Year Legacy of Dedication and Innovation
As Wiers celebrates 60 years of service in the truck industry, we reflect on our rich history, starting from humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name across the Midwest. Founded by Wayne Wiers in 1964, our journey has been marked by a relentless commitment to quality, customer service, and innovation. Over the decades, Wiers has grown from a single dealership into a network of service centers and mobile units, all dedicated to keeping trucks rolling.
One of the most cherished symbols of our legacy is the “Blue Binder,” a 1978 International Scout II Terra that has been a part of the Wiers family since the early days. This iconic truck was originally purchased by Wayne Wiers and modified for truck pulling, showcasing the innovative spirit that has always driven our company. The Blue Binder later became the first car of our current CEO, Tom Wiers, who drove it proudly during his high school years.
In 2011, our Wiers International Body Shop in Plymouth, IN, lovingly restored the Blue Binder to its former glory, returning it to its original Concord Blue with a white Rallye stripe. Today, the Blue Binder stands proudly in our Lafayette, IN showroom as a symbol of our enduring commitment to excellence.
As we look forward to the future, we remain dedicated to upholding the values that have brought us this far—integrity, quality, and a deep commitment to our customers. Here’s to 60 years of rolling forward together, and to many more years of innovation and service!
