Wiers International Trucks is proud to announce that one of its long-time employees, Henry Totten made a great showing at the Indiana Motor Truck Association (IMTA) Technician Championship with the back-to-back title of Grand Champion, among other wins in the following skills competitions:
- 1st Engine
- 2nd Service Information
- 2nd Fasteners
- 3rd Written Test
- 3rd OHM/Volt Meter
“We are so proud of Henry’s accomplishments at SuperTech again this year. Henry represents the professionalism and skill of the entire Wiers Team,” said Tom Wiers, president of Wiers Fleet Partners.
For five years, Totten has been competing in the event to both display his talents and fuel his passion. The IMTA Technician Championships offers medium and heavy-duty truck technicians the opportunity to compete with other technicians throughout Indiana. The best of the best arrive to show off their skills! The competition involves a written test as well as a series of hands-on stations.
With 16 years of experience as a technician overall and 11 years as a member of the expert team at Wiers, Totten has the hands-on knowledge needed to excel in this competitive environment. His passion originated, however, when he was a young boy watching his diesel technician-father and looking to follow in those footsteps. He’s a proud Indiana-native, and when not competing in skills competitions or working hard as a key member of the Wiers Service Team, he’s most likely spending time outdoors with his four sons and wife, Lindsay.
“Competing in this competition is, not only fun, it’s a chance for me to test my skills as well as get involved in a community of professionals that care about what they do, just like I do!” Totten goes on to give advice to new technicians, “Our job is technical, and customers expect things done right the first time. Make sure you follow manufacturer specifications and directions.”
